miscellaneous | sweet banana smoothie
Makes 1 tall glass (gin and tonic size only somehow more healthy!)
This is a gorgeously smooth, creamy and sweet drink which is great for adults and children alike! And it's fantastic for using up really ripe bananas that no one fancies eating. So it helps reduce waste too. It's also great solution if you're beginning to feel hungry but it won't be too long before you have supper. I stress, it is not, however, a substitute for a meal.
Wheat free, dairy free, nut free, meat free version...
- ¼ pint (140ml) rice milk
- 1 banana (medium to largish sized ones. If you're using the really small ones, you may need 2).
- 1 dessert or 1 tbsp of maple or stem ginger syrup (depends how sweet you wish to make it)
- Put all the ingredients in blender - and whizz away! Best served immediately.
- I would suggest putting the syrup in last and blending almost instantly - the syrup has a habit of sinking to the bottom very quickly, getting trapped under the blade mechanism and not being mixed in thoroughly if you leave it even more than a few seconds. The other thing you can do is aim to drizzle it on the floating bits of banana more than in the milk!
Maybe serve with...
This is fine, just as it is!
If you have rice milk left, see the hot chocolate, sweet vanilla sauce or rice pudding.
