The Charity...

When we came across the Dorset Wildlife Rescue, we immediately knew that this was a charity we wanted to try and raise money for. And if you visit their website, you'll soon see why too.

I dread to think what would happen to animals who are injured, illegally snared (like Archie), or orphaned (like Doris) without the team at DWR. And if you want to read a truly bone-chilling account of the cruelty some animals face (and which DWR manage to help), then read the tale of foxes Merlin and Penny.

Thankfully, Nick and Sandra Ridge, along with a team of superb volunteers, are completely and utterly dedicated to helping all orphaned and injured wild mammals - and treat upwards of 300 a year (including intensive hand-rearing and long term care) - which is an incredible achievement for a small charity which operates entirely on a voluntary basis from Nick and Sandra's own home.

Their aims are to:

And they achieve this solely on public donations - every penny raised goes directly to the care and rehabilitation of the wild animals that end up at the centre.

So, you can see why we want to help Nick, Sandra and the team continue their fantastic work - and why we'd love you to donate something.
